It is vibrant bright straw in color. On the nose the wine is leaping out of the glass with aromatics of ripe tropical fruits like pineapple, ripe pear, guavas and a hint of floral notes. Sun ripe grapes add to concentration of complex fruit flavors on the palate with hints of honey and raisins. The wine has a fresh crispy and smooth silky texture on the finish.

Joseph Drouhin Beaujolais Nouveau from France ($11.99) – The Beaujolais Nouveau celebration continues! Showing a hint of banana, this is aromatic and fresh, offering flavors of blackberry and currant, joined by subtle herb and spice notes. Juicy finish. ” Summer has finally settled in Burgundy and Beaujolais. Weather has been beautiful with bright, sunny and warm days and cool nights, except these last days. Under those circumstances ripeness has nicely progressed. There is still an heterogeneity between the grapes and the parcels because of the long flowering season in the spring. We have noticed grapes with a small number of berries and others more compact with a classic Gamay look. The volume of the crop will still be one of the smallest we have ever seen. The harvest date is expected around September 10th and if the weather remains nice the quality of the Beaujolais Nouveau could be good to very good because of the small yield giving more flavors concentration. – August 22nd 2012.” -Joseph Drouhin

Renwood Premier Old Vine Zinfandel from California ($19.99) – This wine has a nose of exotic spices and dried fruits. This classis old vine character also exhibits notes of lavender. On the palate full in body and very ripe the dark fruit on the first taste melds into mildly spicy fruit with a hint of roasted coffee towards the end. Overall this dusty and bold wine offers ample flavor..

Rex Hill Willamette Valley Pinot Noir from Oregon ($35.99) – Beguiling aromatics of Bing cherries, ripe raspberries, huckleberries, pomegranate, violets sandalwood, earch and wood smoke develop into deeper notes of coffee, tobacco, cloves, black fruit and soft leather. The palate intrigues with red, blue and black fruit flavors, appealin spice and minerals framed by delicate, ripe tannins. The wine’s structure builds gradually through the mid-palate reflecting its intensity balance and potential for longevity. This wine is pure example of Oregon Pinot Noir from a classic vintage.

Live Music Saturday Night!

Karen, Ron & Dylan will be back Saturday night! They played two Thursdays ago and were a big hit! They play a great variety of music including favorites from the 60’s, 70’s & 80’s! Music starts about 7:30. Make plans to be at Chateau La Vin for some great wine and music!

Like us on Facebook!

Friday Tasting!
