The Vinchio Vaglio Serra “Kroara” Cortese is fresh and clean. This crisp, light, and fruity wine has subtle notes of apples and pears and food friendly acidity. Cortese makes an excellent food wine and can be paired with hors d’oeuvres, shellfish, and seafood. It is a fitting match for pasta with green herbs as well. Stop in for a taste today!

Brassfield Estate Zinfandel from California ($21.99) – The red zinfandel is a great red wine for barbeque season! It is a big fruit forward wine that can stand up to the big steaks, chicken, pork and even works well with burgers and dogs! The Vineyards: The two and a half acre vineyard that bears this fruit is located above 2000 feet on the eastern edge of High Valley Appellation, along the base of Round Mountain Volcano. The combination of high elevation and extremely porous soils both limit production while extracting profound quality and flavor. The Winemaking: At Brassfield Estate, our winemaking emphasizes quality and the use of traditional hand crafted techniques, which create wines that have both power and finesse. During harvest we used aerative pump over’s and finish with extended maceration with heating of the must. The Malolactic fermentation takes place in our caves using native bacteria. The wine was stirred monthly on its lees to achieve body and texture, and a small percentage of Petite Sirah from our Volcano Ridge vineyard was blended to provide additional depth and structure. The wine was fined, but bottled without filtration. Tasting Notes: The 2009 Zinfandel is a concentrated wine that is rich, ripe and round. It has aromas of blackberry pie and black cherry, with undertones of oak, which expands into a wine that has plush tannins with jammy fruit essences that linger on the finish.

Live Music in the UnWine Garden!

Karen and Hannah are going to play some acoustic folk/pop songs from the 60’s to the present! The music starts at 7:30! I’m so excited about having them be the first to play outside in the UnWine Garden! It will be back to back night’s of music at Chateau La Vin! Stop in for a glass of wine or beer, some cheese and crackers, Almond Butter Crunch from Zettie’s Confections or order from one of the local restaurants “to go” and bring it in!

Last Bottle Blowout continues!

I have more new wine coming in and need to make room for it. We are clearing out some “last” bottles of a variety of wines. I have a table set up with great wines all at 10% off the regular price. These are some great wines that have all but sold out. Stop in and get a few bottles before they are gone!

Summer Hours!

With the festive summer feeling and daylight lasting later into the evening, many of you have wanted to stop in for a glass of wine after 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday or Wednesday. So, for the summer I will extend my Tuesday and Wednesday hours to at least 9:00 p.m. If you are in the mood for a glass of wine or a beer after your kids (or your) sporting event or other activity, Chateau La Vin will now be open! Remember, if the lights are on, we are open!

Like us on Facebook!

The Kroara Cortese was a big hit when we tasted it at the “Italian Wine Tasting”. Now we have the very same wine in a box. Yes, I did say a box. We will taste the wine from the box today along with a great…

[1

post-571","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-uncategorized
["GET
