Ripe cherry and cedar on the nose with hints of dried rose petal and sweet oak. Lovely entry that leads into a fat and savory mid palate. Ripe fig and black currant dominate the finish with a breadth of soft, well integrated tannins. — Dave Phinney, Winemaker. It is a blend of: 44% Zinfandel, 26% Cabernet Sauvignon, 18% Syrah, 9% Petite Sirah, 2% Charbono and 1% Grenache.

Lorinon Crianza Rioja ($14.99) – 100 % Tempranillo. I found this wine on my trip to Chicago. A medium-intensity cherry color with purple edges. Bouquet of cranberries and ripe red fruits, with subtle, elegant hints of aging in American oak barrels and vanilla. Pleasant and harmonious on the palate with fresh, ripe tannins.

The Pepper Pot from South Africa ($14.99) – This is a blend of Syrah, Mourvedre and Tannat. Good bright dark red. Liqueur-like aromas of berries, pepper, wild herbs, licorice and mint. A supple, spicy fruit bomb on the palate, with a slightly stewy and distinctly southern quality countered by strong, somewhat spiky acidity. Finishes with light tannins and notes of woodsmoke and leather. This should match well with spicy dishes or pepper-encrusted meat. – By Stephen Tanzer

Pacific Rim Gewurztraminer ($12.99) – Winemaker’s Notes: Our Gewürztraminer is crafted from Washington grapes. The fruit from these two regions possesses different yet complimentary characteristics, producing a balanced, more expressive and complex wine. We often put the juice and the grape skins in contact to extract and unleash the exquisite Gewürztraminer aromas locked in the skin. The juice is then cold temperature fermented over 20 days. We do not use any oak and do not put the wine through malolactic fermentation. The wine is crisp with a slight residual sugar of 1.7% with flavors of lychee, melon and tangerine. Our Gewürztraminer is an exceptional match with spicy Indian food, lemon chicken and blue cheeses.

We have a great mix of wines to taste today!
