We will be tasting two great wines today!\u00a0 Newton Unfiltered Cabernet Sauvignon and Mersoleil Barrel Fermented Chardonnay!<\/p>\n

Newton Unfiltered Cabernet Sauvignon from Napa Valley ($39.99) – I had a customer in last weekend that told me he spent $110 for this bottle of wine at a St. Louis Steakhouse.\u00a0 Most retail stores sell this wine for $55 to $60 per bottle.\u00a0 It is 89% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Syrah, 1% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot.\u00a0 Robert Parker gave this wine 91 points and said “The 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon reveals more creme de cassis and black currant characteristics along with good acidity, sweet tannin and a Bordeaux Right Bank aromatic and flavor profile. Soft, round and less structured than the vintages of 20 years ago, it should drink nicely for 10-15 years. ”<\/p>\n

Mersoleil Barrel Fermented Chardonnay, Santa Lucia Highlands California (29.99) – Many of you have seen the Mersoleil Silver Unoaked Chardonnay in the shop in the unique ceramic bottle.\u00a0 This is the oaked version of the same grapes.\u00a0 The Mersolei Barrel Fermented Chardonnay has citrus driven nose. Hints of matchstick, pineapple, banana and coconut. Soft and round entry. Oak is apparent but not defining. Mid-palate goes on to reveal other layers of flavors\u2014vanilla, lemon meringue pie, and again coconut. Finish is rich with viscosity that coats the mouth for minutes after your last sip.<\/p>\n

Stop in this evening and try them both!<\/p>\n
