It is aged for 16 months in new French oak barrels. Only made from high quality vintages. Extremely limited production. Tasting: Cherry red with hints of purple. Highly intense, extremely complex bouquet, with red berries, balsamic notes afforded by the Cabernet Sauvignon, spices and chocolate. Powerful, structured and mature, although fresh and extremely long and persistent.

Rubus shiraz ($24.99) – A blend of 98% Shiraz & 2% Viognier, this richly concentrated Barossa Shiraz is indicative of the style for which Australia’s top production region is famous. The wine is dark in color, rich and dense. There are ample tannins balanced by the powerful fruit. You will note the hints of blackberries, mint, and eucalyptus flavors upfront and in the finish. Try Rubus Barossa Shiraz with rich dishes like lamb shank, Osso bucco, beef steak or roast duck. “Polished, supple and juicy, with red berry, black cherry, licorice and white pepper flavors, persisting nicely on the refined finish. Aged 10 months in French oak, this wine displays notes of toast, blackberries, sweet cherries and Asian plum sauce as well as notes of white chocolate and barrique. The wine has great fruit, an opaque purple color, medium to full body, and loads of glycerin, fruit and length. It will drink well for 7-8 years, possibly even longer, and it is a sensational value.” – Wine Advocate (Robert Parker, Issue 201, June 2012), 94 pts.

“Everyone digs Chateau La Vin!” DW

I can’t take credit for coming up with that one, but I couldn’t help using it! The streetscape project continues in from of Chateau La Vin. The best way to get into Chateau La Vin is the back entrance through the Wine Garden. Access will also be available through the front door. Come on in and get your special front row seating for the project! Watch as Historic Main Street Columbia gets better & better!

Watch the Cards Clinch and Taste Three Red Blends Tonight at Chateau La Vin!
