Aromatics of spring flowers, poached pears, honeyed melon and some buttered citrus jump from the glass of this medium-bodied, very pure, fresh and nicely concentrated wine, which is the epitome of a dry Chenin Blanc meant to go with a cornucopia of cuisines.” – Wine Advocate 91 pts.

Bodegas Borsao Garnacha from Spain ($9.99) – “Another outstanding effort is the 2011 Tinto, a blend of 85% Grenache (called Garnacha in Spain) and 15% Tempranillo that is fermented and aged in stainless steel. Possibly the single greatest dry red wine value in the world, this is an unbelievable wine. And don’t complain that you can’t find any, as there are 15,000 cases available, and any wine retailer worth his weight should be stockpiling this wine next to the cash register. Its deep ruby/purple color is followed by classic aromas of kirsch liqueur intermixed with raspberries, loamy soil and flowers. This medium to full-bodied wine possesses remarkable depth, an expansive texture and wonderful freshness as well as purity. On taste alone, this beauty could easily sell for $30-50 a bottle. I don’t understand how anyone can make wines this good to sell at this price, but somehow importer Jorge Ordonez finds them.” —Robert Parker, The Wine Advocate

Decoy Napa County Cabernet Sauvignon from California ($26.99) – Reflecting the character of each growing season, the Decoy Napa Valley Cabernet is made to be opened and enjoyed upon release. It is rich and appealing with fragrant, lifted aromas of mulberry, raspberry and currant with hints of rhubarb and mocha. The soft-toned fruit flavors dominate the plush and inviting palate with engaging spice complexity.
