Boccardi’s will have music on their patio weather permitting starting at 6:00. For our special anniversary tasting we will be opening an Brunello Di Montalcino from Italy! Get your seat early in the Wine Garden, order some Boccardi’s food and enjoy some Italian wine from Chateau La Vin!
Special Anniversary Tasting!
Tonight (Saturday) at 6:30 pm our special anniversary tasting continues! This is a bottle you won’t want to miss! The le Potazzine Brunello di Montalcino is a truly fantastic Brunello! When the bottle is empty, the tasting will end so get here early!
le Potazzine Brunello di Montalcino ($74.99) – With red currants and a healthy dose of black fruits, this wine is faithful to the winery’s balanced and subtle profile, perfect to help any novitiate to Montalcino wines understand why Brunellos are so highly prized. Wine Advocate – The 2007 Brunello di Montalcino is gorgeous. Mid-weight and translucent, it flows with the essence of freshly cut flowers, mint, spices and sweet berries. The warmth of the vintage has filled out the wine’s frame nicely, yet this remains a firm, classically built wine with considerable appeal. It is another striking wine from Le Potazzine. Anticipated maturity: 2015-2025.
Score: 93. —Antonio Galloni, April 2012.
Two more Italian wines to taste all evening!
Saracco Moscato D’Asti from Italy ($19.99) – A lot of you were not able to make it in last night due to the Cards game (What a game!) so I’ve decided to open the Saracco again tonight. It’s a great wine and after all, it fits our Italian theme! Also, yesterday’s email had a typo on the price. Sorry about that! This is the correct price. Moscato d’Asti is a unique wine where the beautiful aromas of the grapes are enhanced by a crisp, nice acidity, a light fizziness and the sweetness of the natural residual sugar. The low alcohol content makes it a very easy, pleasant wine perfect to finish a meal with dessert, or alone as a nice mid-day break!
Nottola Rosso Di Montepulciano from Italy ($19.99) – Nottola Rosso di Montepulciano 2010 is a red wine, made by Nottola. Its origin is Rosso di Montepulciano in Montepulciano, Tuscany, Italy. It is made from the Sangiovese grape. It is soft and “rightly” tannic and a great food wine.
