03 Aug The weekend is here! Start your weekend at Chateau La Vin’s Friday evening tasting!
We will be tasting a white, rose and red today! Three great wines to start of your weekend. See you tonight!
Today’s Tasting!
Scott Family Estate Chardonnay from California ($21.99) – The 2010 Scott Family Estate Chardonnay has vibrant aromas of fresh pear, orange zest, mineral notes and vanilla with bright acidity and flavors of Meyer lemon, white peach and butterscotch, leading to a long, lingering finish. This finely balanced wine is food-friendly and versatile. Enjoy with a seafood salad, chicken with cashews or an omelet.
Claude Val Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault Rose from France ($17.99) – 40 percent grenache, 30 percent cinsault, 30 percent syrah. The three grapes contribute to this wine from the Languedoc-Roussillon region of southern France, Claude Val Rosé. It has flavors of a red wine without being heavy and oppressive. The dry wine features notes of strawberries and fresh herbs.
Rutherford Ranch Cabernet Sauvignon from California ($22.99) – Spring rains in 2010 seemed to delay the start of the growing season, which was overall long and cool, with some unexpected heat spikes in late summer and rain at Harvest. Slow ripening at moderate temperatures gave us fruit of excellent quality, intense color, well-balanced with good acidity and lower alcohol. AROMA: Black currant, vanilla and dried Herbs de Provence. Flavor: Luscious flavors of currant, blackberry, French vanilla, cocoa powder. This wine has firm tannins and a smooth, lingering finish. BLEND: 88% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot, 4% Zinfandel.
