Its Friday and we have three great wines to taste today!

Today we are tasting Marco Felluga Pinot Grigio, E. Guigal Costes Du Rhone, & First Drop Mother's Ruin Cabernet Sauvignon!

Start your weekend here at Chateau La Vin!  We have an Italian, French & Australian wine to taste today!  I hope you can make it in to try these wines!

Today’s Tasting!

Marco Felluga Pinot Grigio from Italy ($22 .99) – Golden yellow in color, often with copper tones. It has an intense and immediate bouquet with pronounced hints of acacia flowers, broom and apple. In the mouth it is elegantly fruity and becomes full bodied, well-structured and has a remarkably long finish.

E. Guigal Costes Du Rhone from France ($15.99) – The 2007 Cotes du Rhone has finally been released, and Guigal has made his finest Cotes du Rhone to date, all from purchased juice. He and his son told me they go through thousands of samples in order to come up with this cuvee, which is based on 50% Syrah, 40% Grenache, and 10% Mourvedre, all aged in tank. A deep ruby/purple wine with lots of cassis, kirsch, pepper, and even an intriguing floral note, the wine is medium to full-bodied , silky smooth, and a truly delicious, hedonistic and intellectually satisfying wine that is a remarkable bargain. It should drink well for 2-4 years, as these wines can actually last. – Robert Parker 90 Points!

First Drop Mother’s Ruin Cabernet Sauvignon from Australia ($24.99) – Glass-staining ruby. Classic cabernet aromas of red- and blackcurrant, cherry, tobacco and medicinal herbs, with a floral overtone and a strong note of mocha. Juicy, gently chewy and deep in dark fruit flavor, with gentle acidity adding definition and lift. Dusty tannins give grip to a long, spicy and nicely focused finish. 91 points, Stephen Tanzer’s Int’l Wine Cellar (Jul 2012)
