25 Jul Today’s Tasting, Live Jazz Tomorrow & Camera Friendly Customers Needed!
I’ts a cool 70 degrees here inside at Chateau La Vin! We are tasting a dry rose & red blend. Stop in for a taste!
Today’s Tasting!
Cline Mourvedre Rose from California ($12.99) – The color in red wine comes from the extraction of pigment from the skins. This takes place during the warm, extended fermentation of the grapes. Our Mourvèdre Rosé is made in the style of a white wine; the skins are removed by pressing before the fermentation begins. What results is the wine picks-up a small amount of color and a little of the astringent tannins. Juice is fermented slowly at cold temperatures to preserve the bright fruit flavors and halted just before the wine is dry. This lovely Rosé shows hints of pomegranate, cherry and plum.
Match Book Tinto Rey from California ($19.99) – “Another big-time winner is the 2007 Tinto Rey, a 6,900 case blend of 44% Tempranillo, 36% Syrah, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon and the rest Graciano and Petite Sirah. Delicious and seductive, it boasts abundant notes of black currants, black cherries, licorice, forest floor and spice. Round, silky tannins, medium to full body and an excellent finish make for a heck of a proprietary blend the likes of which more California wineries should be producing.” The Wine Advocate
Jazz Tomorrow Night!
Ron, Keith and Luke are all planning on being here Thursday for another night of great Live Jazz! In addition, a photographer from the Belleville News-Democrat will be in the shop about 7:30 on Thursday to take some pictures for an upcoming story on Chateau La Vin! It sure would be great to have a full house! If you would like to be in the pictures and possibly be in the paper, please stop in Thursday night around 7:30. Have a nice glass of wine, listen to some great Jazz and help show all the Belleville News-Democrat readers what a great place Chateau La Vin is!
