Rutherford Ranch Red Zinfandell from USA! ($19.99) – A dark purple color with plush fruit aromas of ripe boysenberry, mocha and warm, spicy cinnamon. Layered flavors of juicy boysenberry, cherry and mocha. Well-balanced with refreshing acidity, elegant tannins and a long, smooth finish. 99% Old Vine Zinfandel, 1% Syrah.
Brassfield Estate Winery White Sauvignon Blanc from USA! ($13.99) – The 2010 Sauvignon Blanc exhibits aromas of Asian pear, cantaloupe, and citrus. The palate is fresh with flinty minerality and vibrant acidity, with flavors of tangerine, vanilla, and tropical fruit. As a result of the extended lees contact, the wine shows great depth and concentration with an exceptionally long, elegant finish.
Serenity (Blue Lake Label!) Blend from USA! ($17.99) – Ok, I couldn’t find a blue wine so I did the best that I could do. The 2011 vintage was marked by a cool wet spring, a long growing season and a very small crop. The 2011 Serenity is a distinctive proprietary blend that displays fruit forward aromas of citrus, honeysuckle, nectarine and with expressive minerality. The flavors are rich and deep showing white peach, passion fruit, and honeydew melon with a hint of lime. The wine is well-balanced, leaving a long, clean and well-textured finish, like summer in a glass. 56% Pinot Grigio, 31% Sauvignon Blanc ,13% Gewürztraminer.
