Today’s Tasting:
Serenity white blend from California ($19.99) – The 2010 Serenity boasts distinctive aromas of mangoes, pineapples and key lime pie with flavors of Bartlett pears, citrus, and honeydew melon that linger in your mouth. Crisp, fresh acidity, with a touch of sweetness, makes Serenity a terrific match to spicy Asian dishes or simply to enjoy a glass by itself on a warm summer evening. 65% Sauvignon Blanc 28% Pinot Grigio & 7% Gewürztraminer.
Matchbook Tinto Rey from California ($19.99) – Tinto Rey means “Red King.” Tempranillo is the king of Spanish red wines and one of the most important varietals in our Matchbook Vineyard in the Dunnigan Hills. The Spanish varietals Tempranillo and Graciano contribute spicy red berry fruit flavors; Syrah adds rich flavors of black cherry and blueberry; the spicy cedar and tobacco notes are from the cool weather Cabernet Sauvignon; a touch of Petite Sirah pumps up the tannins, the rich color, and adds a little pepper spice. 44% Tempranillo, 36% Syrah, 13% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Graciano, 2% Petite Sirah.
Last Bottle Blowout continues!
I have more new wine coming in and need to make room for it. We are clearing out some “last” bottles of a variety of wines. I have a table set up with great wines all at 10% off the regular price. These are some great wines that have all but sold out. Stop in and get a few bottles before they are gone!
Summer Hours!
With the festive summer feeling and daylight lasting later into the evening, many of you have wanted to stop in for a glass of wine after 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday or Wednesday. So, for the summer I will extend my Tuesday and Wednesday hours to at least 9:00 p.m. If you are in the mood for a glass of wine or a beer after your kids (or your) sporting event or other activity, Chateau La Vin will now be open! Remember, if the lights are on, we are open!
