04 May Big Friday Tasting, Cinco de Mayo, Mother’s Day and early closing on Sunday!
It’s Friday and we have four great wines to taste today! Tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo and to celebrate since we do not have any Mexican wines we will be tasting some Spanish Wines! Check out the wines we will be tasting! Mother’s Day is just nine days away! Stop in and I will help you select a special wine for that special Mother in your life! Add some Almond Butter Crunch Toffee and specialty cheese to make a fantastic gift!
Today we will be tasting a dry and sweet Chardonnay, an Italian red and California Cabernet Sauvignon.
Esk Valley Hawkes Bay Chardonnay from New Zealand ($21.99) – This is a full bodied but elegant style of Hawkes Bay Chardonnay, exhibiting ripe stone fruit and melon characters, intermingled with hints of butter, grapefruit and oak. The wine is rich in the mouth, complex and long.
Cosecha Tardia Late Harvest Chardonnay from Argentina ($12.99) – Harvested late in the season, the Cosecha Tardia (or Late Harvest) is bright golden yellow in color. Aromas of flowers and peaches on the nose give way to a palate with pleasant acidity and balanced tannins. Excellent in the mouth, nice acidity, pleasant finish and a little sweet!
Kroara Barbera ($11.99) – This wonderful wine is truly amazing, especially when considering the price. Attractive and bright ruby red, with a fresh and fruity nose. Lots of fruit up front, with a lively palate and a fresh, clean finish. A spectacular value from this Barbera specialist.
Villa San-Juliette Cabernet Sauvignon from California ($19.99) – Villa San-Juliette winery has put together a superior, intense, dark wine, aged 18 months in French oak. It has rich persistent flavors of blackberry, layered with dark cherry, chocolate and cassis, all supported by smooth velvety tannins.
