What a great Wednesday!

What a great Wednesday!

It’s Wednesday and a beautiful hot sunny Wednesday at that!  If you want to get in out of the heat, stop in for a taste of a California white and a 2009 Bordeaux!

Serenity white blend from California ($17.99) –   The 2010 Serenity boasts distinctive aromas of mangoes, pineapples and key lime pie with flavors of Bartlett pears, citrus, and honeydew melon that linger in your mouth. Crisp, fresh acidity, with a touch of sweetness, makes Serenity a terrific match to spicy Asian dishes or simply to enjoy a glass by itself on a warm summer evening. 65% Sauvignon Blanc,  28% Pinot Grigio and 7% Gewürztraminer.

Chateau Sylvain Raymond Graves from France ($14.99) –   Wine Spectator said the Bordeaux 2009 Vintage is “The first classic-rated vintage since 2005 yields a treasure trove of luscious reds from France’s premier wine region.  The 2009 reds feature ripe, lush layers of fruit and dense but polished structure. ”   The Chateau Sylvain Raymond Graves is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and is one of the earlier releases from the 2009 vintage.  Although it is still young, it is demonstrating the classic characteristics of this vintage.  It has loads of fruit not always characteristic of a Bordeaux and has a nice smooth finish!

I hope to see you in the shop today!
