Big Friday Tasting at Chateau La Vin!
With the holiday season upon us, many of you are looking for that special bottle of wine. It can be difficult to choose with so many choices out there. To make that choice easier, tonight we will be tasting three big red wines! These are not your everyday wines. We have a Cabernet Sauvignon, Zinfandel & Bordeaux. These are serious $50 bottles of wines! Two of them have gotten 92 Pts. Check out the wines we will taste tonight!
Chateau De Malleret Haut-Medoc Bordeaux 2004 ($49.99) – Earthy with overtones of leather & musk. Predominant aromas of ripe dark cherries & spicy French oak. Medium body, slightly high on acidity. Soft & smooth on the palate, with mellow tannin. Seamless transition, culminating in a spicy, soft & lingering medium length finish.
Hidden Ridge 55% Slope Cabernet Sauvignon ($49.99) – “Rich, intense and well-centered, with vibrant blackberry, cedar, crushed rock and tobacco leaf flavors, ending with ripe, chewy tannins and good length.” 92 Points Wine Spectator
Carlisle Dry Creek Valley Zinfandel ($49.99) – Medium-dark to dark ruby. Drop-dead gorgeous aromas of cherry, herbs, and spice box spill from the glass. I could smell this all day! On the palate, full bodied with an explosion of red cherry fruit. Suave tannins build through the long finish. A remarkable wine combining both power and elegance. Drink from release with a good decant through 2020. 92 Pts. Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar.
The Eric Prewitt Band is back on Saturday!
I am excited to have Eric and his band back to play at Chateau La Vin! They were a big hit last time and I expect the same when they come back. It is going to be a little cool to play in the Wine Garden so they will play inside Chateau La Vin. In Eric’s words ” We’ll be playing a very “intimate, low-volume” indoor set 😉 Come check out this very cool wine-bar…you’ll like it.” The three of them will be playing acoustic pop/rock 70′s to current music! They start at 7:00. Come on in and enjoy the music!
Streetscape Construction
The Streetscape construction project continues. They are now pouring some concrete! Progress is happening! Stop in and check it out! The easiest way to get here is to come in the back door through the wine garden, but I have been assured that access will be available through the front door too! It will look fantastic when it is done, but for a time the sidewalk will be in various stages of construction. Chateau La Vin will be open for the entire project!
