Special tasting by Katie from Rodinia Wines!
Katie will be here tonight before the game to taste four new wines! Get here early for the tasting and stay for the game! Here are the four wines she will be tasting!
de Bardos Ars Romantica from Spain ($24.99) – 100% Tempranillo. Deep cherry red color, with a violet rim and deep robe. Attractive nose full of fruit and liquorice, combined with notes of aging. Full bodied on the palate, although silky and pleasant with a perfectly polished tannin and an agreeable finish, leaving an aftertaste reminiscent of black fruit and undergrowth.
de Bardos Ars Epica from Spain ($25.99) – 100% Tempranillo. Ars Épica is a modern, fresh, elegant Signature Series Wine created from carefully selected grapes and later aged for 16 months in new, French oak barrels. Only made from high quality vintages. Very limited production. Old, low-yield vineyards, selected from the best areas of Ribera del Duero, after many years of research, for their mesoclimates and soils that are well-suited to grape growing,. The most noteworthy vineyards are those located in the extreme north of the designation, in the zone of Anguix and Olmedillo de Roa, positioned on south facing, sloping land with excellent drainage.
de Bardos Ars Mitica from Spain ($29.99) – 90% Tempranillo, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Ars Mítica is a modern, highly structured and complex Signature Series Wine created from exquisitely selected grapes. It is aged for 16 months in new French oak barrels. Only made from high quality vintages. Extremely limited production. Tasting: Cherry red with hints of purple. Highly intense, extremely complex bouquet, with red berries, balsamic notes afforded by the Cabernet Sauvignon, spices and chocolate. Powerful, structured and mature, although fresh and extremely long and persistent.
Morellino di Scansano D.O.C.G Rocca dei Venti from Italy ($17.99) – Fresh and aromatic on the nose, this is a full-bodied dark ruby red wine rich in fruit with nuances of vanilla on the mouth resulting from an ageing of 2 months in French oak barrels. A wine with excellent value for money, with ripe tannins and acidity typical of high-quality Tuscan wines.
Streetscape Construction
The Streetscape construction project is underway. It will look fantastic when it is done, but for a time the sidewalk will be in various stages of construction. Chateau La Vin will be open for the entire project! They have guaranteed that you will have access to the shop too. We do have an entrance in the back of the shop with some parking available. If the front door seems a little too difficult to enter, come around back and enter through the wine garden. Remember, if the lights are on, we are open. If the shop looks empty, everyone may be enjoying the wine garden, especially if there is music outside. Stop in often and check out the Streetscape construction progress!
