Lisa Jones is bringing Brian Devine on Friday!
Lisa is coming back fresh from her live TV performance on Show Me St. Louis KSDK Channel 5! She is bringing Brian Devine with her to play! She is one of our favorites at Chateau La Vin and I’m excited to hear her play with Brian! Brian is bringing his guitar and his cajon ‘ beat box’. I’m sure they will be great together! As most of you know, Lisa plays a 12 string acoustic guitar. Her songs include: James Taylor, Carole King, Sheryl Crow, Bonnie Raitt, Janis Joplin, Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Loggins & Messina, Alanis Morrissette, America, Simon & Garfunkel/Paul Simon, Buffalo Springfield, Tracy Chapman, Melissa Etheridge, Fleetwood Mac/Stevie Nicks, 4NonBlondes, Miranda Lambert, Kenny Chesney/Grace Potter, The Eagles, KANSAS, Adele, The Beatles & Tom Petty. It’s going to be a special night in the shop! They start at 7:30.
Greg Silsby on Saturday!
Greg is making his first full appearance at Chateau La Vin on Saturday. He was here once before sitting in with Charlotte St and sounded fantastic! I’m looking forward to having him back! Here is a little about Greg: Greg Silsby is the former vocalist and guitarist for the St Louis based bluegrass band Cumberland Gap. He was voted as ‘Best Male Vocalist’ in St Louis by The Riverfront Times in 2011. ‘A great bluegrass band is defined by its singers, and in Greg Silsby, Cumberland Gap has an ace. A long tall drink of mountain water, Silsby has a tenor voice that cuts through the air like a sharpened wing. He’s not smooth, he doesn’t croon or wail, but his pitch is precise and his feel for original and traditional material — the blues especially — is convincing. He has a band of super-pickers to back him up, but that voice always leads the way. He can sing a tune by the Dead or the Beatles, Bill Monroe or Anonymous, and he can carry the melody past twangy clichés and straight to the heart of the song.’ Come in and welcome Greg to the shop! He starts at 7:30!
