21 Jun Tonight’s Tasting & Live Music!
It’s Friday and we have three great wines to taste tonight plus live music on the Wine Garden to help celebrate the first day of Summer!
Today’s Tasting!
Murrieta’s Well The Whip from California ($19.99) – The Whip is our tribute to the great white blends of the world; a sophisticated yet approachable blend of aromatic white grapes. Fermented and aged in a combination of stainless steel and neutral oak barrels, this wine displays aromas and flavors of white peach, honey, butterscotch and jasmine with an extended and balanced finish.
Corinne Perchaud, Chablis from France ($29.99) – This Chardonnay has classic Chablis like characters of oyster shells, mineral, white flower and ripe fruit aromas of pear and citrus. Delicious and balanced. Rich components in the mid-palate, with a long lingering flavor core. An exceptional wine with more weight and intensity that one expects from village Chablis. Thrilling wine.
Alain Jaume & Fils Domaine Grand Veneur Les Champauvins Cote du Rhone from France ($24.99) – The single-vineyard Cotes du Rhone, the 2010 Les Champauvins, is a smaller cuvee made largely from Grenache (70%) and the rest Syrah and Mourvedre. This is the poor person’s Chateauneuf du Pape, with notes of garrigue, lavender, black cherry jam, licorice, and a hint of blacker fruits. Rich, full-bodied, ripe, with sweet tannin and lots of concentration, this is a beauty to drink over the next 8-10 years – it is that rich and concentrated. 92 Pts. RP.
