Friday Tasting!

We have two new wines to taste tonight and an old favorite back in stock!

Tasting 4-19-13

The Honey Pot from South Africa ($15.99) – Lovely yellow green tinged color with brilliant reflection of light. Nose of Papaya, melon and litchi. Palate is smooth and creamy with soft, tropical fruit notes of papaya, litchi and mango and ends with a fresh, long finish.  Sauvignon Blanc and a portion of the Semillon were fermented in Stainless steel tanks . Less stirring took place 3 times to develop a creamy texture to the wine. A small portion of the Semillon and all the Viognier was fermented in aged white wine barrels and blended back into the wine. Bottled with a small amount of Residual sugar to make the wine ideal for consumption with foods that have some fire!  79% Sauvignon Blanc, 13% Semillon & 8% Viognier.

Klinker Brick Farrah Syrah from California ($22.99) – This is the old favorite that we just got back in stock. Deep garnet in color, this wine exhibits aromas of dark fruits, tobacco, leather and pepper. On the palate, there are with layers of plum, chocolate, tobacco and exotic spices. This wine is mouth filling with bright fruit, velvety texture and exceptional balance.

Michel-Schlumberger Maison Rouge Red Wine from California ($20.99) – Deep ruby in color, aromas of cherry, black currant, violets and allspice on the nose, are balanced with well-structured tannins, a rich mouthfeel and concentrated flavors of cherry and plum.  32% Merlot 14% Cabernet Franc 14% Carmenere 14% Syrah 10% Cabernet Sauvignon 10% Petit Verdot 6% Malbec. 960 cases produced.
