23 May Today’s Tasting and Live Jazz Tomorrow Night!
Another beautiful day to sit outside and enjoy a nice glass of wine! The wine garden is open! Live Jazz tomorrow and an Italian and Argentinean wine to taste today. Stop in for a glass.
Busi Chianti Rufina from Italy ($15.99) – 100% Sangiovese. Fresh, fruity, with classic tart cherry. The wine is grown right off the Sieve River on a hillside, which is the site of an old Etruscan Village. Fermentation in stainless steel at controlled temperatures for 7 to 8 days, with an additional 3 to 4 days on the skins. The wine is then racked and goes through malolactic. It is then racked again and stays another 7 months in stainless steel.
Antucura Cabernet Sauvignon from Argentina ($16.99) – Impeccably Balanced Berry Explosion! When we poured this juicy, grand Cabernet from Argentina’s Bodega Antucura, the general reaction was, “Whoa!” It’s totally opaque, red-black, and dark as The Abyss. It’s inky, viscous, coats the glass when you swirl, and is, by several miles, the most full-bodied Cabernet at this price that any of us have ever tasted. This teeth-staining juice vastly over-delivers on its price tag and erupts in geysers of berries, coffee, smoke, and toast, right from the first sip.
Antucura’s line-up is full of highly-rated juice that’s produced in what Wine Advocate calls “a real garage operation”. The wines are elegant, long, deep, and beautifully made and this Cab, in a Napa bottle, would fetch $75, easy. This is a major bargain, folks, and supplies are limited, so click Buy, now! – 90 Wine Advocate.
