16 Mar Today’s Tasting and 1st Annual St. Patrick’s Day Dog Parade!
How will you start your St. Patrick’s Day celebration? How about out in front of Chateau La Vin at 10:00 am for the 1st Annual St. Patrick’s Day Dog Parade? Too early for some wine? How about a Mimosa to cheer on the dogs? We will have both traditional Mimosas and in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, Green Mimosas!!! We will be open early for the parade. Stop in and support this great new event in Columbia!
We will have four wines open for tasting today! Start your weekend with a taste!
Alias Chardonnay from California – Beautiful citrus flavors with softer tropical fruit and honey apricot notes. Fruit and balanced acidity lead, but just enough vanilla oak and buttery creaminess.
Alias Merlot from California – This wine offers a classic Merlot profile of bright cherries, ripe plums, red currants and vanilla oak with hints of cassis and spice on the finish.
Cosecha Tardia Late Harvest Chardonnay from Argentina – Harvested late in the season, the Cosecha Tardia (or Late Harvest) is bright golden yellow in color. Aromas of flowers and peaches on the nose give way to a palate with pleasant acidity and balanced tannins. Excellent in the mouth, nice acidity, pleasant finish and a little sweet!
Rubus Barossa Shiraz from Australia – A blend of 98% Shiraz and 2% Viognier, this richly concentrated Barossa Shiraz is indicative of the style for which Australia’s top production region is famous. The wine is dark in color, rich and dense. There are ample tannins balanced by the powerful fruit. You will note the hints of blackberries, mint, and eucalyptus flavors upfront and in the finish. “Polished, supple and juicy, with red berry, black cherry, licorice and white pepper flavors, persisting nicely on the refined finish. Drink now through 2017. 2,000 cases made.” 90 Points Wine Spectator.
