10 Jul This week at Chateau La Vin!
Who would have thought that 93 degrees would feel so cool! Well maybe not cool, but a lot better than it has been. The evenings should even be cool enough to enjoy the wine garden! We have a good week planned for you! I hope you can make it in!
Today’s Tasting!
Cousino-Macul Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile ($12.99) – Since it is cooler, I thought a Cab from Chile would be appropriate! An intense deep ruby red color, clear and bright, the 2010 vintage presents itself with a marked bouquet of ripe berries typical of the Maipo valley. The aromas then give way to mature plums and spice. In mouth, it is fresh, with good acidity and firm, velvety tannins and light notes of black fruits, typical of the variety.
Rutherford Hill Napa Valley Chardonnay from California ($19.99) – Light straw color. Lemon, honey, vanilla with hint of orange blossom. Full-bodied with crisp acidity of citrus, vanilla bean and flinty mineral accents. Rutherford Hill’s Chardonnay is crafted from grapes grown in the cooler climate of southern Napa Valley that create a wine with striking balance and structure. The 100% Chardonnay fruit is carefully hand-picked into half-ton bins and whole cluster pressed to provide the highest quality wine possible. Delicate aromas of orange blossoms, pear and honey give way to the full bodied, wonderfully layered flavors of fruit and balanced acidity.
