Special Tasting Thursday, Live Jazz Wednesday and Today’s Tasting!

Yalumba Viognier, Cousino-Macul Cabernet Sauvignon & Pedroncelli Mother Clone Zinfandel!

I have confirmed the special tasting for Thursday!   Jazz night will move to Wednesday next week and today we will be tasting a Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel!

Special Thursday Tasting!

Gary Hoyd from Rutherford Wine Company will be in the shop on Thursday to taste several of his wines.  The initial lineup looks to include a Chardonnays, Cabernet Sauvignons, Zinfandels, Pinot Noir and a great blend.  Mark your calendar!   It should be another great event at Chateau La Vin!  More details to follow as the date gets closer.

Live Jazz Wednesday!

Live Jazz Thursday is moving to Wednesday night next week.  It would be too much to have both the special tasting and jazz the same night.  Keith and Ron have agreed to come in on Wednesday night and play for all of you who cannot make it out on Thursdays.  Music starts at 7:30.  Stop in and taste some great wine with fantastic Jazz!

Tonight’s Tasting!

Yalumba Viognier from South Australia ($14.99) – Wine Enthusiast top 100 #93!  A bright yellow straw in color, the Yalumba Y Series Viognier 2010 exhibits an alluring mix of honeysuckle, candied ginger and glacé pineapple aromas, which are typical of this exotic variety. In the mouth the palate has flavors of fresh pineapple and dried figs. It is finely balanced with silky texture from wild fermentation and lees aging.

Cousino-Macul Cabernet Sauvignon from Chili ($12.99) –  winemaker’s notes: An intense deep ruby red color, clear and bright, the 2010 vintage presents itself with a marked bouquet of ripe berries typical of the Maipo valley. The aromas then give way to mature plums and spice. In mouth, it is fresh, with good acidity and firm, velvety tannins and light notes of black fruits, typical of the variety.

Pedroncelli Mother Clone Zinfandel from California ($15.99) – Deep purple-red in color, our Mother Clone Zinfandel is full bodied and intense with classic Dry Creek Valley characteristics: aromas of ripe blackberry and spice, jammy fruit flavors framed with subtle black pepper.  Chosen as one of the Best in the West for $25 or less by Wine Spectator Magazine.

Last Bottle Blowout continues!

I have more new wine coming in (some are here already!) and need to make room for it.  We are clearing out some “last” bottles of a variety of wines.   I have a table set up with great wines all at 10% off the regular price.  These are some great wines that have all but sold out.  Stop in and get a few bottles before they are gone!
