28 Apr Saturday Tasting!
We had a lot of fun last night at Chateau La Vin! Let’s do it again tonight with three more wines to taste!
Mettler Family Vineyards Estate Cabernet Sauvignon from California ($25.99) – “Our awarding winning Cabernet Sauvignon is always a crowd pleaser! Enjoy our latest vintage, our 2009. Medium to dark in color the nose on this is a big spoonful of blueberry pop tart filling mixed with equal parts saddle leather, earth, and tobacco. On the palate it’s fruit, fruit, fruit forward up front. Solid but not overbearing tannins hit in the mids to pull back the fruit, ending with a long blackberry, blueberry, and a hint of leather finish.” -Winery
Villa San-Juliette Merlot from California ($18.99) – Ruby red in color and aged for 18 months in French oak. Supported by firm, but silky tannins, this wine has complex mineral and rich briary aromas of blackberry, raspberry and black currant, skillfully balanced with the succulent flavors of red berries and plum.
Nugan Estate Chardonnay from Australia ($14.99) – Straw with youthful green hues. Lively aromas of citrus and melon with cinnamon, nutmeg and vanillin spice notes. On the palate, zesty flavours of citrus and pineapple with nut and all spice nuances and a crisp, dry finish. 75% of the blend was fermented and matured, for 12 months, in new French oak. 88 Points-Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar “Green-gold color. Pungent, herb-accented pear and melon aromas are complicated by white flowers and minerals. The clean, vibrant citrus and orchard fruit flavors gain sweetness with air and finish with good grip and lift.”
I hope to see you in the shop today!
