05 Jan New Year’s Resolution – Drink Better Wine!
Happy New Year everyone! I hope your holidays were great!
There are so many New Year’s Resolutions that people make and in a month or less, break. Here is a resolution you and I both can keep! Now it is important to note that I didn’t say “Drink more expense wine!” I said “Drink Better Wine!” There are so many great wines at every price range out there. My job is to help you find that better wine in whatever price range fits you. It’s a new year and time to explore new wines that make your palate happy!
Today’s free tasting is just a start on our road to fulfill our New Year’s Resolution! I will be tasting a Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile and a Zinfandel from St. Helena – Napa Valley.
Siegel Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon from Chile ($9.99) – 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 15% Syrah Intense cherry color, well-perfumed and sweet nose. This wine is reminiscent of mature red fruit like cherries, jam with hint of pepper intermingled with toasty notes in the mouth. Round and concentrated, this a juicy and persistent wine with notes of spices and toast.
Charles Krug Zinfandel St. Helena – Napa Valley California ($24.99) – Beautifully balanced with layers of blackberry, raspberry, roasted coffee and white pepper spice, this medium bodied Zinfandel has supple tannins and a lush, round finish.
