New Wines in for Friday Tasting!

New Wines in for Friday Tasting!

Today we will be tasting two great wines that I discovered at the grand wine tasting in Chicago a couple of weeks ago.  A great everyday red blend and a fantastic Zinfandel!

Friends Red from Sonama County California ($13.99) – “A red wine blend to share with our friends and yours.  It isn’t about the varietal, or the shape of the glass…it’s about the friendship shared around an easy drinking glass of red wine.” – Winery.  A proprietary blend of Merlot, Syrah and Sangiovese.

Carol Shelton Karma Zin Old Vine Zinfandel, Russian River Valley California ($34.99) – This Zinfandel dominated field blend is complexly layered with spice and black fruit. The pretty blueberry fragrance leads to a palate rich with creamy oak, vanilla, dark chocolate, nutmeg and cinnamon. All of the grapes come from the legendary Rue Vineyard which was planted before 1900, making this a wine that truly lives up to the designation “old vine.”  The name KarmaZin™ was bestowed in gratitude for the many gifts of good Karma received in life, whatever the source. When positive energy is put forth in hard work mixed with integrity, the giver is rewarded with success, the fulfillment of a dream.  Blueberry, cream, oak, vanilla, dark chocolate, nutmeg and cinnamon.  85% Zinfandel, 5% Alicante Bouschet, 5% Carignan, 5% Petite Sirah.

Two great wines to start your weekend!  See you tonight!
