24 Aug Live Music & Friday Wine Tasting!
It’s Friday! Time for some music on the Wine Garden and some great wines to taste!
Today’s Tasting!
Soave Classico Capitel Tenda from Italy ($19.99) – The 2009 Soave Classico Capitel Tenda is quite pretty and understated in its white peaches, flowers, almonds and mint. This fresh, perfumed Soave is an excellent choice for drinking over the next year or two. Anticipated maturity: 2011-2013. Robert Parker 88pts.
Tres Picos Borsao Garnacha from Spain ($19.99) – “Glass-staining purple. Lively, faintly medicinal aromas of cherry, blueberry and licorice, plus hints of smoky herbs and flowers. Juicy and expansive, offering sweet, deeply pitched bitter cherry and dark berry flavors supported by a taut spine of acidity and fine-grained tannins. Finishes with powerful spicy thrust and suggestions of candied flowers and woodsmoke. This could pass for a northern Rhone wine, and a really good one at that.” 91 Points International Wine Cellar. “This rich red is brimming with raspberry jam, chocolate, licorice and wild herb flavors. Firm tannins are well-integrated and buoyed by orange peel acidity. A lively modern style. Drink now through 2015. 5,000 cases imported.” 90 Points Wine Spectator.
Greystone Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon from California ($16.99) – Vanilla, cola & berry briar aromas swirl in the glass alongside graham cracker, cassis & licorice. A ripe full texture supported by red currant fruit & wonderful chalky tannins.
