07 Jun Jazz Thursday, Live Music in The UnWine Garden Friday!
Live Jazz Thursday is here again! Friday night in the UnWine Garden we will have live music for the first time! Today we are tasting a Rose and Tempranillo.
Cline Mourvedre Rose from California ($12.99) – The color in red wine comes from the extraction of pigment from the skins. This takes place during the warm, extended fermentation of the grapes. Our Mourvèdre Rosé is made in the style of a white wine; the skins are removed by pressing before the fermentation begins. What results is the wine picks-up a small amount of color and a little of the astringent tannins. Juice is fermented slowly at cold temperatures to preserve the bright fruit flavors and halted just before the wine is dry. This lovely Rosé shows hints of pomegranate, cherry and plum.
Match Book Tempranillo from California ($19.99) – The Tempranillo and Graciano vines grown in our Matchbook Vineyard in the Dunnigan Hills are from cuttings imported from the Pesquera region of Spain. While the traditional earthy and spicy flavors are evident from these old-world varietals, the Matchbook Tempranillo shows its California upbringing in the expansive aromas of blueberries, spice and herbs of Provence. Rich flavors of red and black berries, cinnamon and clove are followed by toasted oak, vanilla and cocoa powder.
Jazz Thursday Night!
Ron and Keith will be back tonight to play some more great Jazz. Carol hopefully will be able to join them too! It is always a fun night! They plan on starting about 7:30. Get here early for a good seat!
Live Music in the UnWine Garden!
Karen and Hannah are going to play some acoustic folk/pop songs from the 60’s to the present! I’m so excited about having them be the first to play outside in the UnWine Garden! It will be back to back night’s of music at Chateau La Vin! Stop in for a glass of wine or beer, some cheese and crackers, Almond Butter Crunch from Zettie’s Confections or order from one of the local restaurants “to go” and bring it in!
Last Bottle Blowout!
I have more new wine coming in and need to make room for it. We are clearing out some “last” bottles of a variety of wines. I have a table set up with great wines all at 10% off the regular price. These are some great wines that have all but sold out. Stop in and get a few bottles before they are gone!
Summer Hours!
With the festive summer feeling and daylight lasting later into the evening, many of you have wanted to stop in for a glass of wine after 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday or Wednesday. So, for the summer I will extend my Tuesday and Wednesday hours to at least 9:00 p.m. If you are in the mood for a glass of wine or a beer after your kids (or your) sporting event or other activity, Chateau La Vin will now be open! Remember, if the lights are on, we are open!
