It’s Friday the 13th! How about a Tarot tasting? Maybe your fortunes will be good!

Do you believe in the Friday the 13th superstitions?  I’d love to hear your stories!  Post them on the Chateau La Vin Facebook page if you would like to share!

We have four new wines in the shop today for our Friday tasting including the Tarot Grenache!  A true sign of good fortune on this Friday the 13th!

Tarot Grenache from Australia ($14.99) – Bright ruby. An intensely floral nose features red berry preserves, rose, jasmine and candied licorice. Juicy and perfumed in the mouth, with a silky touch to the intense raspberry and floral pastille flavors. Youthfully fruity wine, with tangy acidity that needs a little time to harmonize with the primary fruit. The note of candied flowers carries through the long, sappy finish. – Stephen Tanzer’s International Wine Cellar 89+ Pts.

San Rocco Tedeschi Red Wine from Italy ($24.99) – A blend of the indigenous grapes of this Italian region.  The indigenous grapes are Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella and Molinara.

“The 2007 Valpolicella Superiore Ripasso Capitel San Rocco is a beautiful, plump wine loaded with character. Smoke, black cherries, grilled herbs and spices come together beautifully in this juicy Valpolicella. The wine’s inner perfume carries through nicely on the finish. Anticipated maturity: 2010-2015. ” 90 Points The Wine Advocate.

“Tedeschi’s opulent Capitel San Rocco ripasso boasts elements of red fruit, spice, coffee, cola and sandalwood. The wine is perfumed and intense and the mouthfeel is focused and sharp.” 90 Points Wine Enthusiast.

Cousino-Macul Cabernet Sauvignon from Chili ($18.99) –  An intense deep ruby red color, clear and bright, the 2010 vintage presents itself with a marked bouquet of ripe berries typical of the Maipo valley. The aromas then give way to mature plums and spice. In mouth, it is fresh, with good acidity and firm, velvety tannins and light notes of black fruits, typical of the variety.

Two Princes Riesling from Germany ($15.99) –  Prinz Salm is the the oldest documented family‐owned wine estate in Germany, dating back to 1200. The estate is currently managed by Prince Constantin Salm, a member of the 32rd generation.  This wine shows quiet flavors of apple, citrus peel, apricot, nectarine and peach skins supported by a softly stony earthiness. That earthy character gives it an unusually subtle flavor complexity for the category. It’s persistent, harmonious and finely expressive.

Make it a lucky Friday the 13th and stop in for a taste!
