Friday the 13th Good Luck Tasting!

Happy Friday the 13th!  I hope your day has been free of bad luck!  What better way to bring on good luck than a free tasting of a couple great wines!  We have a red and white to taste today.

The Whip from Murrieta’s Well ($18.99) – The Whip is our tribute to the great white blends of the world; a sophisticated yet approachable blend of aromatic white grapes. Fermented and aged in a combination of stainless steel and neutral oak barrels, this wine displays aromas and flavors of white peach, honey, butterscotch and jasmine with an extended and balanced finish – Winery.  31% Sauvignon Blanc, 27% Viognier, 15% Semillon, 11% Pinot Blanc, 8% Orange Muscat, 8% Muscat Canelli.

Artazuri Granacha ($13.99) – 91 points Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate: “The 2009 Artazuri Garnacha is deep purple in color with an inviting nose of spice box, floral notes, and ripe black cherries. Dense, rich, and nicely proportioned on the palate, it has several years of aging potential but can be approached now.”  100% up to 80 year old vine Garnacha.” The Artazu project was created by the legendary winegrower Juan Carlos Lopez de la Calle of Rioja’s famous Artadi estate. The goal was to take the same quest for varietal purity that Juan seeks in Tempranillo to the Garnacha varietal.” The small village of Artazu in the northernmost zone of Navarra was chosen for its extraordinary old vines of Garnacha producing wines of dark, peppery fruit with amazing balance and soft tannins.

Stop in today and try both of these unique wines!  I have also updated our wine by the glass lists.  Some new alternatives to try by the glass.  If the lights are on, we are open!
