10 May Big Rose Tasting Saturday Afternoon 1:00 pm – 5:00pm & Live Jazz Tonight!
This Saturday (5/12) from 1:00 – 5:00 Chateau La Vin is hosting a special Rose Wine Tasting! Rose season is just starting and this special event will give you a chance to taste some great new wines! They will also make a great last minute Mother’s Day gift!
We will feature five Rose wines from Itally, Spain, France and California!
La Passione Sweet Pink Red ($12.99) – “La Passione is a sweet, lightly sparkling wine that is sure to be a crowd pleaser. Made mostly of the Brachetto grape, it has aromas of raspberries and strawberries. Particularly enjoyable when poured over fresh berries and topped with whipped cream and can also be enjoyed with fresh fruit tarts and wild berry sorbet. Serve chilled.”
tella Berry from Italy ($14.99) – Stella Rosa Berry is a Moscato-based blend from the Piedmont region of Italy. Sweet but not overly sweet with just enough bubbles. Great as an aperitif or with light meals. Refreshing taste with a clean finish.
Reinares Tempranillo from Spain ($11.99) – The color is deep rose with a muted nose of cherries and dried flowers. The attack is very soft but at the same time dry, crisp and with good minerality. The finish is long and refined. Who says rose can’t have character?
Chateau de Campuget Syrah & Grenache Noir blend from France ($14.99) – Syrah 70%, Grenache noir 30%. The wine’s color is an intense peony pink. Its bouquet is very aromatic, with scents of small red fruits such as raspberries or blackcurrants. In the mouth there is a perfect balance between vivacity and mellowness. The final taste is very long, leaving a delicate impression of fruitiness.
Belle Glos Pinot Noir Blanc from California ($19.99) – Vibrant rose-salmon color. Rich, ripe strawberry and green apple aromas follow through in flavors that are further enlivened with cranberry and citrus zest notes. The full, lush mouthfeel is balanced by a brisk acidity and mineral elements, leading to a long-lasting finish.
Be sure to stop in for a taste! Mix and match any six roses and receive 10% off all day Saturday.
Today’s Tasting and Live Jazz!
Today we have an Australian Shiraz and Italian white wine to taste! Also, Ron and Keith will be back in to play some jazz around 7:30! Stop in for a taste and listen to some great jazz guitar!
Schild Estate Barossa Shiraz from Australia ($24.99) – Polished and generous, offering a racy mouthful of tobacco-accented cherry and black currant fruit that finishes with an edge of dried sage, licorice and fresh cream. This lingers impressively, showing amazing depth for the price. Drink now through 2017. Wine Spectator 92 pts.
IL Griso Roero Arneis from Italy ($22.99) – From the Roero winegrowing region, the Arneis grape makes an impressive white wine. A full bouquet of almond, apricot, pineapple, pear blossoms and a long, dry finish make this wine a beauty. It is a handcrafted, very small production wine from Vinchio Vaglio Serra. The Arneis grape is known to be a bit difficult to grow, making the end product all the more respected. It is sometimes referred to as Barolo Bianco. This is a full white wine that will take a well paired meal to new heights. Pair with seafood stew and other delicate fish and poultry dishes.
