16 Dec Start Your Friday Evening at Chateau La Vin!
The weekend is here and we have three great wines to taste this evening. Stop in and give them a try!
Santenay Burgundy ($29.99)- A Pinot Noir from France’s famous Burgundy region. This has deep color and rich flavor that is a trademark of the Burgundy region.
The Pepper Pot from South Africa ($14.99) – This is a blend of Syrah, Mourvedre and Tannat. Good bright dark red. Liqueur-like aromas of berries, pepper, wild herbs, licorice and mint. A supple, spicy fruit bomb on the palate, with a slightly stewy and distinctly southern quality countered by strong, somewhat spiky acidity. Finishes with light tannins and notes of woodsmoke and leather. This should match well with spicy dishes or pepper-encrusted meat. – By Stephen Tanzer
Kuentz-Bas Pinot Blanc from Alsace France ($16.99) – A full-bodied Pinot Blanc, featuring pretty floral notes playing off of the stone and citrus zest flavors. This is well-defined by lively acidity, and ends with a lingering salty tang. Drink now through 2013.” – 88 Points Wine Spectator.
