Wines to Taste Today!
We have four new wines to taste. The Noble House 2010 Riesling, Honig Napa Valley 2010 Sauvignon Blanc, Mas de Leda 2007 Tempranillo and Belcore 2008 Sangiovese Merlot blend.
Below is some more information on the four wines.
Noble House 2010 Riesling – An appealing bouquet of peach and apple aroma. A very balanced and harmonious wine with delicate aromas and minerality, very low in alcohol at just 10%!
Honig Napa Valley 2010 Sauvignon Blanc – A Top Value, Robert Parker: “This Loire Valley-styled 2010 Sauvignon Blanc exhibits an attractive green-ish hue along with notes of melons, white currants, figs and a hint of citrus oil. Made in a refreshing, medium-bodied, crunchy style with excellent purity, there are 48,000 cases of this popular Sauvignon. Enjoy it over the next 1-2 years.” (08/11) Another juicy, refreshing Sauvignon Blanc mostly from Honig’s sustainably farmed vineyards in Rutherford, the 2010 is aged for three months in a combination of neutral oak and stainless steel. It has melon, stone fruit and citrus aromas and flavors, with a mineral-kissed finish.
Mas de Leda 2007 Tempranillo – The 2007 Mas de Leda is made by the famed Mariano Garcia, the former winemaker for Vega Sicila. It’s 100% Tempranillo, with some coming from Toro and some from Ribera del Duero. Dense and luscious with plush, ripe, dark berries, melted bittersweet chocolate, a touch of cinnamon and all spice. It’s all wrapped in a jacket of fine grained tannins.
Belcore 2008 Sangiovese Merlot blend – I.G.T. Toscano Rosso. Grapes Sangiovese 80% Merlot 20% aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels. Intense purple color tending to violet. The palate bursts with attractive violet and blackberry notes followed by a long, substantial finish.
