Bordeaux Tasting with Vincent Peyrat!
It’s Friday and we have a very special Bordeaux tasting tonight. Vincent Peyrat is from the Bordeaux region of France and really knows the wines from that region. Vincent has moved to this area to represent Grand Vin de Bordeaux and promote the wines of the Bordeaux region. The special free tasting starts at 6:00. This is a very special opportunity to taste some great wines. In addition to a couple of 2005 favorites, we are bringing in some new Bordeaux wines just for the tasting. Many of you know that wines from this region are among my very favorite. I hope you can make it in to taste these great wines. Check out the lineup for tonight!
Saint-Anac Moelleux White Bordeaux ($11.99) – This white Bordeaux wine is characterized by its refreshing taste and its honey aromas. The Semillon grape variety brings flesh and volume to the wine, while the Muscadelle gives rounded wines of good acidity, with musky and honey aromas, delicate and powerful.
Chateau Beausejour Fronsac 2010 Bordeauz ($19.99) – 2010 was another great vintage from Bordeaux. These wines are just starting to be released. The blend is 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Cabernet Franc. This wine is a little unique because it was not aged in oak barrels. It is ready to drink now even though it is still young.
Chateau Jourdan 2005 Bordeaux Superieur ($24.99) – The 2005 Vintage was one of the best of all time for the Bordeaux region of France. Wine Spectator gave the vintage 99 Pts! Chateau Jourdan is 60% Cab Franc, 35% Merlot & 5% Cab–Nose Of Blackcurrant & Ripe Cherry–Smooth & Finely Structured Palate Of Ripe Black Fruit!
Chateau Senailhac 2005 Bordeaux Superieur ($27.99) – Smoky Aromas Of Game, Mocha, Dark Berry & Cocoa–Lots Of Red Fruit Flavors With Game Notes & Gripping Tannins. A combination of microclimate, specific soil types and a subtle blending of five Bordeaux native grapes. 43% Merlot, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 23% Cabernet Franc, 7% Malbec and 2% Petit Verdot.
Chevalier De Rauzan-Gassies 2008 Margaux ($44.99) – This second growth Bordeaux is a vivid, brilliant crimson color with floral, spice and dark berry aromas, and is smooth and elegant on the palate. 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc, 5% Petit Verdot.
Vincent may bring one or two more Bordeaux wines with him to taste if he can get them today. See you tonight!
